M•CON took a heavy hit during the National Championships, as a crash incurred causing the boat to not be fit for racing. It is now being fixed for the anticipated SBI Offshore World Championships in Key West. Continue reading below for more information.
Thanks to a tangle with the 39-foot Pro-Floors Racing NZ-1 team MTI raceboat during last weekend’s Super Boat International National Championships in Clearwater, Fla., the 40-foot M-Con Skater Powerboats catamaran is back at the Skater facility in Douglas, Mich., getting repaired in advance of the upcoming SBI Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla. Always on the spot to capture the shot, speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden grabbed an image of the 40-footer still running shortly after the crash.
As nasty as the damage to the starboard hullside looks in the image above, the boat will be ready to go for Key West according Tony Cutsuries, Skater’s national sales manager.
