What a weekend for MCON Racing! After starting at the very back of the pack in qualifying, our Monster Energy Skater fought through the Clearwater Offshore Nationals to claim the overall weekend victory.
It was a rollercoaster from start to finish: last place in qualifying, a second-place finish in Race 1 on Saturday, and then the big moment—a win in Race 2 on Sunday.
The decisive point came when GC Racing suffered an unfortunate flip. Thankfully, Grant and Willy made it out safely, but the restart lined us up in first. From there, we took off and never looked back, charging hard to the checkered flag.
After the race, throttleman Tyler Miller summed up the emotions of the weekend:
“I’m speechless, honestly. From last place in time trials, to second place yesterday, to bringing it home today—this Monster Energy team never quit. I’m so humbled, so proud to race with all of these PRO Class 1 guys. I couldn’t be more stoked right now.”
Driver Myrick Coil also shared what was on everyone’s mind in the aftermath of the GC Racing incident:
“Really happy that Grant & Willy are alright. That was weighing heavy on our hearts while we were waiting for them to get out. Kudos to the team, kudos to our fans—that’s what we do it for.”
From adversity to triumph, this weekend proved the strength, determination, and teamwork that defines MCON Racing. The Clearwater Offshore Nationals will be remembered as a turning point where we showed that no matter where you start, it’s how you finish that counts.
